📋 Tender Overview
Today, a self-sufficient energy community was presented in Novi Mesto, within the framework of which ten solar power plants with a total power of almost 1.2 megawatts were installed on ten public buildings. The project is an example of successful cooperation between the state, the local community and the economy in increasing domestic electricity production.1 / 2
Solar power plants, installed mainly at schools, kindergartens and other public facilities, will produce approximately 1.22 gigawatt hours of electricity per year. The investment was co-financed from the resources of the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, Marko Dvornik, emphasized at the end of the project that local renewable resource projects significantly contribute to greater energy resilience and domestic electricity production.
With this project, the new town shows what can be achieved in the field of energy at the local level. Behind such projects are knowledge, cooperation and people who are ready to turn good ideas into concrete solutions, said Dvornik.
At the same time, he emphasized that when planning the energy future, Slovenia must look beyond a single source of energy. Our goal is a reliable, clean and competitive electricity system for the whole of Slovenia. We need renewable resources, we need to make better use of our hydropower potential, we need modern networks and stable sources of production, among which nuclear energy plays a key role.
27 projects of this type are being developed in Slovenia, which will provide a total of more than 40 megawatts of new production capacity from renewable sources.
The energy transition is not a competition between individual technologies. In the end, what counts is the result: that we have enough energy, that it is as clean as possible and that its price is acceptable for people and competitive for our economy, emphasized Dvornik.
The project was created in collaboration with the state, the Novo mesto Municipality and the Petrol company and represents an example of the integration of the public and private sectors in the development of local energy and the strengthening of energy resilience.
