π Tender Overview
This Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30, a temporary rerouting of traffic will be implemented in the middle of the road on Avda. Don Atilano Caceres, at the height of Avda. Sudamericana. The measure will allow the placement of structures intended to channel water and improve drainage under the road, as part of the duplication of the Gral. Aquino route (Tape Tuja), within the Las Residentas Road Corridor. During work days, the half lane on the left side of Avda. Don Atilano Caceres will be closed at Avda. Sudamericana and vehicles will circulate in the enabled right sector. Once they have passed the intervened section, they will be able to return to their usual lanes. Current restrictions Citizens are also reminded that the left lane entering Luque, in the area of Elizardo Aquino and Sudamericana avenues, remains closed. The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) recommends drivers reduce speed, respect the installed signage and follow the instructions of the personnel in charge of ordering vehicular passage in the work zone. Access to the affected streets will be restricted, except for residents facing the street, who must travel with special caution. The scheme was previously coordinated with the Highway Patrol and the Municipal Traffic Police. For inquiries about temporary modifications, the telephone line 0985 203 381 is available. About the work The works include the duplication of the D025, the strengthening of the areas drainage system and the optimization of urban connectivity, with the aim of achieving a more fluid, safe and efficient connection between Luque and Asuncion, benefiting nearly 500,000 people who circulate through the area daily. Among the main interventions, the construction of a four-lane bridge over the Abay stream, double returns, a T intersection for access to the Air Force, a traffic light intersection at Curva Romero and a roundabout at Tape Tuja with Felipe Gonzalez stand out. The work is being carried out by Benito Roggio e Hijos S.A., with financing from Itaipu and supervision by the MOPC. Date: August 26, 2026
