π Tender Overview
The Bioceanic Route bridge, one of the most emblematic infrastructure works promoted by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), is increasingly closer to achieving the physical union between Paraguay and Brazil. Currently, there are only 21 meters left to complete the connection between the cities of Carmelo Peralta and Puerto Murtinho, on the Paraguay River. The infrastructure is part of the Bioceanic Corridor, a strategic initiative that will integrate the Atlantic and Pacific oceans through Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile. With its implementation, a significant reduction in the transportation times of goods to international markets is expected, in addition to a strong boost to the economic, social and logistical development of the Paraguayan Chaco. At this stage, the work is concentrated on the central section of the bridge, where there are only 21 meters left to join both structures. At the same time, the so-called closing voussoirs are advancing, final concrete pieces that will allow the sides of the viaduct to be completed. Likewise, the installation of protective barriers continues to reinforce vehicular and pedestrian safety on the structure. The work is in charge of the Binational Consortium PYBRA and represents an investment of G. 684,615,904,566. Strategic accesses to integrate the PY15 route Access to the International Bioceanic Bridge constitutes a key complementary work, since it will directly connect the viaduct with route PY15, integrating international traffic to the Bioceanic Corridor in the Carmelo Peralta area. The main access will have approximately 3.8 kilometers of asphalt pavement between the bridge and PY15. The route will begin about 4.5 kilometers before the urban area of Carmelo Peralta, will advance 2.6 kilometers to the north and then 1.2 kilometers to the east until it connects with the bridge. Currently, the reflushing, cleaning and clearing of the area continues, in addition to the installation of fencing. Drainage works are also being carried out on the main avenue of Carmelo Peralta, works that are in charge of the Road Integration Consortium, made up of Tecnoedil S.A. Construction and L.T. S.A., with an investment of G. 125,952,948,959. Date: May 21, 2026
