December 29, 2025, Chisinau - In the year 2025, through the Electricity Price Increase Compensation Program, economic agents in the field of agriculture and the manufacturing industry benefited from financial support for the partial coverage of energy expenses.
Within this mechanism, 3,218 requests were submitted, and the total amount of compensation granted was 38,112,234 lei.
The compensation granted to economic agents represented 50% of the difference in the regulated electricity price, excluding VAT.
For each beneficiary, the total value of the compensation granted did not exceed the ceiling of 5 million lei.
For economic agents in agriculture and the food industry, the compensation was granted in the form of a complementary payment, the mechanism being managed by the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture. The aim of the intervention was to reduce the pressure of energy costs on enterprises in priority sectors, maintain the continuity of economic activities and support their competitiveness.
The compensation program, approved by the Government, was implemented in 2025 and is valid until December 31, 2025, within the limits of the available budget, benefiting from support from the European Union.
