π Tender Overview
OEFA reports confirm that the provincial commune has improved cleaning and solid waste removal.According to the latest report from the Environmental Evaluation and Supervision Organization (OEFA), the provincial municipality of Chiclayo has improved the coverage of the cleaning service and managed to eradicate 115 critical points of garbage accumulation. In this way, the version that circulated on social networks with past photos, regarding a supposed accumulation of RRSS, is distorted.
Likewise, official information highlights that the public cleaning service expanded its coverage from 33 to 39 service areas, increasing the collection capacity in different sectors of the province.
It specifies that actions are being carried out aimed at strengthening comprehensive waste management through the Chiclayo Recycle program which, so far in 2026, has allowed the collection of 100 tons of usable waste in registered homes that are included in 15 selective collection routes, with the participation of operational personnel and formalized recyclers.
Added to this is the recovery of 199 tons of organic waste, which is collected in 6 markets in Chiclayo and transformed into 60 tons of compost.
The Municipality questions the images disseminated with imprecise information on social networks about the accumulation of solid waste in various parts of the city. They correspond to the year 2023 and reflect the scenario that was found when the mayor took over the municipal administration, which found limited operational capacity, insufficient machinery, restricted service coverage and numerous critical points of waste accumulation.
The municipality also highlighted the development of environmental education actions through the EDUCCA program, which has promoted the planting of more than 220 trees, the swearing in of more than 558 environmental promoters and the carrying out of more than 40 citizen awareness activities. In addition, he reported that the Pampas de Reque landfill is 95% complete and will benefit eight districts in the province of Chiclayo.
