Canas Advances With Works That Build Well-being: El Descanso - Sausaya Highway Exceeds 50% Completion And Generates Opportunities For More Than 2,000 ResidentsTo consolidate a historic investment in road infrastructure and the transformation of the Cusco provinces with concrete works. The Cusco Regional Government, through the Regional Transportation and Communications Management, strengthens the execution of the El Descanso - Sausaya - Pumahuarco local highway, an emblematic project that already exceeds 50% physical progress and will directly benefit more than 2,000 residents of the province of Canas.
With an investment of more than 51 million soles, the important road infrastructure will allow the integration of communities in the Kunturkanki and Checca districts to facilitate access to markets, health services, education and development opportunities for hundreds of families that for decades faced connectivity difficulties.
Currently, the work is in the final stage of improving the subgrade, while the works of art have already been completed in their entirety, which includes the construction of 4 bridges and more than 62 culverts along the 10 kilometers of the road. In the coming weeks, base, subbase, bilayer, ditches and road marking work will be carried out to fully conclude the project.
True development comes when works improve peoples lives. This highway not only connects towns, it connects opportunities, strengthens the family economy and restores dignity to our brothers in rural areas. We are fulfilling the commitment to bring investment where the State was historically absent, highlighted the regional governor, Werner Salcedo Alvarez.
The main authority of the region highlighted that the current administration maintains a decentralized investment policy with the prioritization of projects that generate social impact and promote equal opportunities for the provinces and districts. Thanks to the coordinated work between the organized population and the Cusco Regional Government, the completion of the work is expected to be brought forward before the initially scheduled date, he stated.
For his part, the regional manager of Transportation and Communications, Fredy Yucra Huanco, pointed out that the El Descanso - Sausaya highway represents much more than a road infrastructure because it constitutes a tool to combat poverty, boost agricultural production and strengthen the territorial integration of Canas with the rest of the region.
