Russias illegal and unprovoked invasion has major humanitarian and economic consequences. Ukraine is fighting for our common values and it is happening in our immediate area. That is why Ukraine is the largest recipient of Danish development aid says Development Minister Flemming Mller Mortensen.Talks with a focus on Danish support for MykolaivThe visit includes talks with the Ukrainian authorities with whom Denmark has close cooperation. This includes the governor and mayor of Mykolaiv for whom Denmark has taken special responsibility in the reconstruction process.Denmark is taking an active part in the reconstruction in Mykolaiv. Right now we are focusing on urgent efforts because the city is still under attack. But we are also in close dialogue with the authorities about how we can support more long-term efforts and bring Danish skills and companies into play says the minister.
