In addition work is underway on the possibility of constructing up to 500 temporary homes on the areas by the Tunnel Factory. Every day up to 5000 people are expected to live work and visit the building when it is completed in 2025.The tunnel factory is being developed in a partnership between the companies NREP Unionkul and By Havn. The former TC factory resund Tunnel Contractors was built in the 1990s to cast tunnel elements for the resund connection. At that time the coastline went just outside the factorys gates and the elements could be sailed directly into the Sound using the factorys water tank which is still found in the building. The tunnel factory has subsequently been used for many different purposes. For example building materials have been stored apprenticeship tests have been held on the carpentry education and the place has served as a film backdrop for several film and TV recordings. It is also here that there has been a 1 1 model of the opera front. It was the director of Unionkul Klaus Kastbjerg who rediscovered the empty hall and got the idea for the new culture hall of which he is also a co-owner.
