Czech Republic Gps Tender

The Road and Motorway Directorate together with the Czech Waze community and Israeli Waze are preparing the installation of Waze Beacons in Brno tunnels to determine the drivers position in the tunnel where the GPS signal is missing. The successful cooperation from May last year when the beacons were installed in the Jihlava Tunnel where this technology was first introduced will continue.In April the lighthouses will be installed in the Pisreck and Krlovopolsk tunnels the Hlinka tunnel and the Zhebsk and Voronsk galleries. The Husovice tunnel will be fitted with lighthouses only after the approaching reconstruction at the end of August 2019. Lighthouses are currently only used by Waze navigation users. But the technology is also freely available for other applications incl. commercial navigation.
