📋 Tender Overview

The Railway Administration is looking for a contractor of the documentation for the permit of the project for the section of HSL Vyso?ina II. The track is over 90 km long and will lead from Sv?tlá nad Sázavou to Velká Bíteš, and there will be a downhill run to the centre of Jihlava. It is the main connection between Prague and Brno and a key section for connecting the administrative centre of Vyso?ina to the high-speed line.

HSL Vyso?ina II is part of the fast connection Prague – Brno – Ostrava and will connect to the sections HSL Central Bohemia and HSL Vyso?ina I. The project includes not only the new construction of the line Sv?tlá nad Sázavou – Velká Bíteš, but also the reconstruction of the railway junction Jihlava and the modernisation of the existing line from Velké Mezi?í?í to Kozlov, or the station K?ižanov. All three parts will be assessed separately in the EIA process.

The new high-speed line will ensure better and faster accessibility of Jihlava and strengthen the capacity of the connection between Brno and Prague. Thanks to the construction, the city will gain a better connection with the surrounding settlements, including T?ebí? and Havlí?k?v Brod.

The design of the HSL is in line with Jihlava's intention to create a central point of transport service at the current Jihlava m?sto station. The town hall is preparing a transport terminal for urban and regional transport, while the Railway Administration is planning a complete reconstruction of the railway station with barrier-free platforms accessible by an underpass.

The proposal to bring HSL to Jihlava envisages the extension of the Jihlava m?sto railway station by additional platforms and the construction of new connecting tracks so that all trains can arrive here directly, without changing the direction of travel. Direct connections from the centre of Jihlava to Prague with a travel time of about 50 minutes and to Brno with a travel time of approximately 40 minutes are proposed.

The second place where it will be possible to board a high-speed train will be the Jihlava VRT terminal directly on the high-speed line. It is proposed at the motorway exit 112 Jihlava, so it will be easily accessible for passengers from the region who arrive by car. Currently, the competition proposals for the architectural design of the terminal have been submitted, and the evaluation committee will meet this month. The Jihlava HSL terminal is a separate contract, but at the same time it is fully coordinated with the Vyso?ina II HSL section.

The Railway Administration announced a tender according to the innovative Best Value method. Its principles are applied throughout the competition, including the evaluation of bids. The aim of this approach is to find a high-quality, independent and inventive supplier who can sensitively integrate the line into the landscape and at the same time cope with the complexity of urban development in Jihlava.
