These actions encourage the implementation of low orbit technology to close the digital divideThe Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), led by Minister Aldo Prieto Barrera, has been promoting the digital modernization of the country with actions aimed at closing the connectivity gap.
In this framework, Cusco will become the first region to implement the pilot with state-of-the-art satellite internet, which will significantly reduce the gaps in connectivity, especially in areas of difficult geographic access.
This progress was consolidated in a meeting between the Vice Minister of Communications, Carlo De Los Santos La Serna, and the provincial mayor of Cusco, Luis Pantoja Calvo. Both authorities agreed on the guidelines to implement low orbit satellite technology, an ideal solution to connect communities.
The goal is to bring high-tech connectivity to all Peruvians, guaranteeing a signal of the highest quality that promotes the economic, educational and cultural development of the country, said Vice Minister De Los Santos.
The initiative contemplates the implementation under the low orbit satellite system in strategic points, allowing free access to high-speed Internet, to which between 200 and 300 people can connect simultaneously, using broad spectrum bands that ensure a stable and better quality signal.
