π Tender Overview
The Prime Minister said that yesterday the representatives of the largest retail chains expressed their willingness to contribute to the Government's efforts to reduce inflation and to lower the prices of a certain number of products in their offer, and the price reduction will begin these days.
"We expect the cooperation of all these actors and their readiness to contribute independently to the reduction and stabilization of prices, primarily of food products that are most often bought, at the Government's instigation," said the Prime Minister.
When it comes to discussions with bank representatives, the most important conclusion from yesterday's meeting is that banks will increase interest rates on deposits, that is, citizens' savings. It is a measure that is in favor of the citizens, and at the same time it is anti-inflationary.
It is equally important, said the Prime Minister, that the Government received guarantees from the heads of the banks that the increase in interest rates on savings will not increase the interest rates on housing and cash loans.
