Amendments to the Law on State Attorneys Office elaborate the provisions in the procedure of appointing the chief state attorney and prescribe the implementation of periodic basic security check of deputy state attorneys as it is inextricably linked to preconditions for proper state attorneys duties. Malenica.Thus it is proposed that only timely and complete applications be submitted by the State Attorneys Council DOV to the Government which will request the opinions of the competent body parliamentary committee on all candidates.It is also proposed to stipulate that if the Government does not nominate any of the candidates for Attorney General within 15 days from the day of receiving the opinion the DOV will annul the public invitation and restart the election procedure by publishing a new public invitation within eight days at the latest.A special way is planned to carry out the procedure of renewing the security check of state attorney officials for whom the security check was conducted more than five years ago and the system of their mandatory professional training is being improved the minister said.
