The President of the Republic Zoran Milanovic visited the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture University of Zagreb where he participated in a solemn session of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture on the occasion of the Faculty Day.In his address to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture President Milanovi said that it is a large academic institution which is financed not only from the budget but also from European funds. European money usually ends up there for those who have and dont really need it but where it is needed such as this place and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing it ends up there in a smaller amount. This is because the system is set up so that everyone is satisfied but the most satisfied are those who founded it all and who have the most and that is the big rich countries. The European Union is not designed to reach those who are secret keepers the poorer or the poorer. That is so and it will not change but that is not a reason for the best among us and among you to be determined and loud with those who compete said President Milanovic. He said that mechanical engineering and shipbuilding are a tradition that has existed in Croatia for decades. Here the technical culture industry mechanical engineering of the seventies and eighties were at a high level. Maybe not like in Germany or northern Italy but Croatia was a class in the former Yugoslavia. There are numerous Zagreb factories shipyards which is an integral part of this school or this academic branch. At that time Croatian shipyards were building ships in international tenders for the richest clients not because we were the cheapest but because you had the technology. These are great things and simply one tradition and one seed that is ineradicable. That is why we should insist on it and fight for it it is a matter of national priority. This is where the difference is made in wealth and income said President Milanovi.I praise one look at life and work and then at you as the protagonists of this generation but also those before you and those I saw today in CRTA added President Milanovi who on the eve of the solemn session on the occasion of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Day and shipbuilding visited the Regional Center of Excellence for Robotic Technologies CRTA a reference center for research development and implementation of robotic systems in the Republic of Croatia. The project of spatial planning equipping and establishing CRTA was worth almost HRK 38 million of which almost HRK 37 million was financed from the EU Operational Program Competitiveness and CohesionThe activities of the Center are focused on research and development of advanced robotic applications in manufacturing and medicine where traditional automation and human labor should be replaced by flexible versatile and adaptive robotic systems. The center integrates three laboratories for computer intelligence for the autonomous system and for medical robotics which President Milanovi visited accompanied by the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture prof. dr. sc. Drubravko Majeti and the head of the Regional Center of Excellence for Robotic Technologies prof. dr. sc. Bojan Jerbi.In addition to President Milanovi the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture prof. dr. sc. Dubravko Majeti Rector of the University of Zagreb prof. dr. sc. Damir Boras Mayor of the City of Zagreb Tomislav Tomaevi and State Secretary at the Ministry of Science and Education Ivica uak.Along with President Milanovi the celebration of the Day of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture was attended by the Head of the Presidents Office Bartol imuni Advisor to the President for Education Jadranka arkovi and Special Advisor to the President for Economics doc. dr. sc.
