π Tender Overview
Presenting the historic increase in salaries in state and public services, worth 1.63 billion euros, Prime Minister Plenkovic stressed that the main goals of this reform are to increase the salaries of all employees and equal pay for equal work. In this context, he recalled that from 2009 to 2016, the total increase in the base amounted to 0 percent, and in the mandate of this Government as much as 40 percent.
The government, he stressed, was able to achieve all this thanks to the circumstances it created - a secure legal framework, a relieving tax policy and a predictable direction of the country, which is a firm anchoring into deeper integration through membership in the euro area, the Schengen Area and the European Stability Mechanism and the OECD. "This is all possible because we were leading the country in the right direction," Plenkovic said.
In the introductory part of today's government session, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic presented the basic coefficients of employees in the civil service, the Croatian Army and public services.
In its policy, Prime Minister Plenkovic stressed, the government pursued continuous wage growth despite crises, reminding that the crisis context we were faced with was unprecedented.
Namely, in the past almost four years, the state and society have been faced with a pandemic, two devastating earthquakes, an energy crisis as a result of the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, inflationary pressures, African swine fever and extreme weather disasters.
