Costa Rica called on Bolivians to go through the crisis in their country through the institutional constitutional peaceful and democratic path while warning that they do not believe in a military solution nor support it during the extraordinary session of the Permanent Council on the situation in Bolivia.Costa Rica does not believe in any military or police solution nor does it support it. Nor does he believe that in the barracks the fates of the democracies of the Hemisphere have to be decided. These destinations are decided at the polls through free and universal voting said the Permanent Representative of Costa Rica to the Organization of American States OAS Montserrat Solano Carboni. Costa Rica joined a joint pronouncement signed by 15 countries of the Hemisphere read by the delegation of Brazil during the session in which violence whatever its origin is rejected and calls for a peaceful exit in a framework of total respect to the Constitution and Bolivian laws.This joint declaration recognizes the work carried out by the OAS through the Electoral Observation Mission and the Electoral Integrity Analysis Mission. In addition it calls for the provisional Presidency to be defined as stipulated in the Constitution and laws and that a fair free and transparent electoral process be convened as soon as possible honoring the will of the Bolivian people. The Costa Rican delegation also took the floor to lament the dead and wounded and condemn the violence and reiterate the call to all political and citizen forces of Bolivia to act with prudence and responsibility.In these moments of uncertainty the construction of a legitimate exit requires that each step must be taken through a civil peaceful way attached to the rule of law and to the most fundamental principles of democracy such as respect for the human rights of all Bolivians without distinction of any kind. Costa Rica reiterates the call made by President Carlos Alvarado Quesada to all political and citizen forces of Bolivia to act with prudence and responsibility said Ambassador Solano Carboni.
