The Embassy of Costa Rica in Chile remains attentive to the situation of Costa Ricans in that country. After office hours the emergency telephone number is 56 9 9470 6059.During the weekend the Embassy has attended through the emergency telephone or social networks consultations of 38 Costa Ricans individual or group as well as reports of residents who indicate they are well and alert to safety instructions. Most of the concerns are of compatriots who travel as tourists and refer to issues related to flights or transport to the airport for the moment we have not received any report of more serious affectations to Costa Ricans said the Ambassador of Costa Rica in Chile Adriana Murillo Ruin.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that any decision regarding traveling staying or leaving a country corresponds exclusively to the citizen. It is requested to take precautionary measures avoid situations of risk and unnecessary displacement and inform the Consulate General of Costa Rica in Chile of their entry into the country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs votes for the situation to return to normal soon and for dialogue and respect for institutionalism in that sister country.
