BYD the worlds leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles and its Costa Rican distributor Cori Motors recently debuted two models from the Ocean series BYD Dolphin and BYD Seal along with four other models at EXPOMOVIL 2023 a celebrated local auto show showcasing a rich array of BYD New Energy Vehicles NEVs and attracting a large number of fans and customers.The debut of BYDs Ocean models injects new impetus into the Costa Rican electric vehicle market. Both models feature a design inspired by oceanic aesthetics and take on a refreshing and vibrant look. As a five-seater luxury sedan BYD Seal is a new energy electric vehicle that is highly sought after for its sophisticated and elegant design. Being the first model equipped with CTB technology BYD Seal presents outstanding advantages in terms of aesthetics safety handling and efficiency. BYD Dolphin the compact hatchback features a futuristic design with a unique stance.With 15 years of experience in automobile distribution Cori Motors has become the number one seller of electric vehicles in the market said Pedro Dobles CEO of Cori Motors. The two Ocean Series models unveiled on this occasion stand out for their performance and safety providing local consumers with a greater diversity of EV model options.Other BYD models such as HAN EV TANG EV and best-sellers such as YUAN PRO and YUAN PLUS were also on display at the event. Notably the BYD YUAN PRO SUV locally known as S1 PRO is the best-selling electric vehicle ever in Costa Rica ranking sixth in terms of total units sold in the Costa Rican automobile market including gasoline vehicles.Zhang Jin BYD Sales Manager for the Central America and Caribbean Region attended the event and introduced the two Ocean Series models to local consumers. Regarding the cooperation with Cori Motors he considered that both parties are working together based on the same vision to help promote the electrification of transportation in Costa Rica and support BYDs initiative to Cool the Earth by 1C.During the exhibition local KOLs such as Jorge Martnez host of a prestigious sports channel and Yokasta Valle a Costa Rican professional boxer and IBF World Mini Flyweight Champion were also invited to interact with the visitors making BYD the most visited NEV booth in the fair.BYD has sold more than 2000 NEVs to date since its entry into Costa Rica. As of 2022 BYD has been the No. 1 seller of NEVs in the country for three consecutive years. Going forward BYD will intensify cooperation with local dealers to optimize local sales and service systems offer better experiences to Costa Rican users and help accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility in the region.
