Priority will be given to the installation of modular bridges and the preparation of studies to strengthen the Oxapampa - Huancabamba - Pozuzo road corridor.With the aim of strengthening road connectivity in the Pasco region, the Vice Minister of Transportation, Juan Haro Munoz, held a working meeting with Congressman Pasion Davila Atanacio, the mayor of the province of Oxapampa, Euler Osorio Ruiz, and representatives of the Management Committee of the Villa Rica - Puerto Bermudez - Constitucion highway and the Oxapampa - Huancabamba - Pozuzo - Codo de Pozuzo highway, who arrived in Lima to raise their demands and coordinate actions aimed at improving walkability in this important area of the country.
During the meeting, the situation of the Ishpihuacazu, Aguachini and Cajorani bridges was evaluated, as well as the actions planned to improve traffic conditions in the Oxapampa - Huancabamba - Pozuzo road corridor.
In this framework, Provias Descentralizado reported that in the month of May the contract for the preparation of the technical file for the Ishpihuacazu bridge will be signed, which will allow for the necessary studies for its future intervention. Likewise, the prioritization of the Aguachini and Cajorani bridges was announced for the acquisition of modular bridges during the year 2026, with the aim of improving connectivity and road safety in the area.
For its part, Provias Nacional indicated that in May the preparation of the pre-investment study of the Oxapampa - Huancabamba - Pozuzo section will begin, which will be executed by direct administration.
Additionally, supervision actions will be carried out in the road corridor that includes the sections Puente Reither - Villa Rica - Von Humboldt and Puente Paucartambo - Oxapampa, in order to evaluate the conservation works and then manage resources for the contracting of a new road maintenance service.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) and included
with the participation of social organizations and technical teams from Provias Nacional and Provias Descentralizado.
The MTC reaffirms its commitment to continue coordinating efforts with local authorities and citizens to promote infrastructure projects that contribute to the development of the regions and improve the quality of life of the population.
