The Ministry of Education and Training said that in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution taking place at an unprecedented speed, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a core field of science and technology, with a breakthrough, profound impact on all aspects of economic and social life and gradually reshaping the way people live, work, study and think. only. AI is also increasingly becoming an essential tool to support lifelong learning, expand knowledge, promote creativity and personal development. AI education plays an important role in helping students adapt and integrate into modern society; Form and develop AI capacity to apply to study and work; At the same time, promote the ability to absorb knowledge, create and contribute to the development of the country in the new era. The AI framework for students is developed based on four main strands of knowledge. According to the Decision, the AI education content framework for students is developed based on four main strands of knowledge, corresponding to four competency domains, blending and complementing each other: Human-centered thinking: Emphasizing the purpose of AI is to serve people, teaching students how to identify needs and evaluate AI solutions.AI Ethics: Equipped with the ability to identify and analyze ethical and legal issues, aiming to use AI safely and responsibly. AI techniques and applications: Provide basic knowledge about how AI works and skills to use AI tools in practice. AI system design: Develop capacity from the level of use to understanding and creating simple AI systems, focusing on problem-solving skills. Designed content framework corresponding to two stages of education: Basic education stage (including elementary and middle school levels) and career-oriented education stage (high school level), specifically as follows: At elementary level: Students mainly experience simple, intuitive AI applications to form initial concepts and recognize the role of AI in life. Children are educated about protecting personal data and respecting copyright. At the middle school level: Students learn how to use AI tools to create digital products and solve learning problems. Students are equipped with basic knowledge about the operating principles of AI and begin to form a sense of ethics and civic responsibility in the digital society. At the high school level: Students are encouraged to explore, design and improve simple AI tools through scientific projects. The program focuses on developing problem-solving thinking, creativity and mastery of AI tools, helping students apply AI to create products that serve the community and orient their future careers. AI thinking is based on the thinking foundation of computer science, which is problem-solving thinking with the help of computers (decomposing problems and data, abstraction, generalization, pattern recognition, algorithm development, critical evaluation) and developing a special element of cooperation and creativity with AI, solving problems with machine learning models, deep learning, generative AI, data mining and smart solution creation. Designed to be closely linked with the general education program in Informatics, inheriting relevant knowledge and skills and limiting unnecessary duplication.3. Exploit AI education programs of advanced countries. Actively consult, refine and apply successful AI education models in the world, refer to UNESCOs Artificial Intelligence Competency Framework for high school students to ensure that the content is both modern, up-to-date with trends, and suitable for the Vietnamese context, aiming to contribute to the formation and development of the capacity of global citizens.4. Scientific, modern and pedagogical Select the basic, modern content of the AI field, and pay special attention to the content on ethics, law, culture and social impact of AI. The principle of teaching words and teaching people is promoted, emphasizing humanity in the digital age. Content is designed with clear pedagogical principles: ensuring suitability, developing knowledge along a roadmap from simple to complex, from intuitive to abstractawkward. Core concepts are formed at the elementary level and gradually improved at higher levels.5. Openness, flexibility and periodic updates The content framework is designed in an open direction, including core content and expanded content, to both ensure consistency in competency standards and create conditions for educational institutions to proactively organize implementation in accordance with practical conditions and development needs of students. Core content ensures essential AI competencies for all students, organized into mandatory AI education topics with a duration of 12 hours period/class/school year.
