π Tender Overview
The Geological, Mining and Metallurgical Institute (Ingemmet) reports that the national representation approved, in a second vote, the opinion that regulates its functions and powers, consolidating its strategic role in the geoscientific and mining development of the country.
This legislative initiative consolidates the role of Ingemmet as the governing body in geology, geological and paleontological heritage of the country; Likewise, it determines its powers for research in geological matters, as well as for the granting of concessions and the administration of the national mining cadastre and the right of validity and penalties.
In addition, the law recognizes its nature as a specialized technical public organization and as a public research institute, reinforcing its dual role in the generation of geoscientific knowledge and in the promotion of responsible mining investment.
With this approval, Peru takes a decisive step towards strengthening its mining and geological institutions, consolidating INGEMMET as a key actor to promote investments, manage the territory and contribute to the sustainable development of the country.
