Intensive concreting is underway on site. In total approximately 7000 cubic meters of concrete will be used for the reconstruction of the bridge.
We want to have the first half of the bridge reconstructed by the end of the summer holidays. This will be followed by the demolition and reconstruction of half of the bridge in the direction of Brno. Later the historical arch will also be renovated which will remain from the original bridge. Dozens of workers take part in the construction every day. They have a lot of heavy equipment at their disposal including crawler excavators truck cranes or tower cranes with a height of 60 meters.
Traffic on the highway is still conducted in the 2/2 mode with narrowed lanes at the site of the work. The speed at the construction site is reduced to a maximum of 80 km/h and compliance with it is controlled by stationary radars. The local road under the bridge connecting Senohraby with Hrusice remains closed.
The contractor is the association of companies Strabag a.s. and Pragoprojekt a.s. which is reconstructing the bridge for 965 million CZK excluding VAT. The work is progressing according to the schedule which still envisages putting the reconstructed bridge into operation in July 2027.
