As part of the management led by the president of the IPD, Sergio Ludena Visalot, members of the Navy successfully completed the specialized technical swimming training course.With the aim of optimizing the physical preparation of the Armed Forces, the Sports Training and Technique Directorate of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) closed the course Swimming Technical Training Methodology and Plan, training that benefited 108 participants, including coaches, technicians and instructors of the Marine Corps.
This specialization, which was developed at the request of the Peruvian Navy Infantry Force, was carried out in strict compliance with the Interinstitutional Framework Agreement No. 59-2023, signed between the IPD and the Ministry of Defense.
Likewise, the activity responds to Goal 18 of the Institutional Operational Plan (POI) 2026, which prioritizes competent and quality training for agents in charge of promoting sports massification.
The sessions were held at the Ancon headquarters of the Peruvian Navy, strategically combining theoretical classes and practical sessions in a semi-Olympic pool, led by Mr. Carlos Morales Huilcahuaman, a specialist in the discipline.
Morales Huilcahuaman highlighted the support of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) and the progress made by the amphibians during the training. The objectives have been met. When the course began, completing a combined hundred meters was a challenge for them; today they do it as a result of the technical work developed during the training. The support of the IPD has been fundamental and I appreciate the invitation and the facilities provided to develop this course, he stated.
In this way, technical training was consolidated as a fundamental tool to increase survival, operability and military performance in highly demanding aquatic scenarios.
The military personnel who satisfactorily completed the requirements of the program will receive their official certifications this Thursday, July 9, which accredit a total of 48 pedagogical hours.
This joint effort reaffirms the commitment of the IPD, under the management of its president Sergio Ludena Visalot, and the Ministry of Education, to decisively promote and strengthen the physical capabilities of Armed Forces personnel.
