o Mining Replica Workshop Program reached the Santa Rosa de Vista Alegre hamlet.The Mining Replica Workshop program, promoted nationally by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), reached the Santa Rosa de Vista Alegre hamlet, an area of direct influence of the Valiente mining exploration project (Huanuco), to train 60 residents and authorities on the development of modern and responsible mining in the country.
The participants went to the communal premises of the hamlet, belonging to the Hermilio Valdizan district (Leoncio Prado - Huanuco), to receive training on the mechanisms of citizen participation and prior consultation, and also to learn who the competent authorities are for the care of the environment and to know the content of the environmental management instruments.
These information spaces were conducted by specialists from the General Office of Social Management and the General Directorate of Mining Environmental Affairs of the MINEM, which were expanded with topics related to mining activity in the country, its benefits, the potential of the sector and the importance of the sustainable use of mineral resources.
The General Directorate of Mining Promotion and Sustainability (DGPSM) developed the workshop in response to the request of Rodolfo Valeriano Pizan, former participant of the MINEM Mining Internship and current president of the Neighborhood Council of the Ricardo Herrera Caserio, also a neighbor of the Valiente project, a large-scale gold and copper exploration initiative, operated by Hannan Resources Peru S.A.C.
The president of the Santa Rosa de Vista de Alegre neighborhood, Gamaniel Carrillo, expressed his support for the development of mining activity in his jurisdiction so that it contributes to meeting their main demands related to employment, health, education, agriculture, transportation and electrification.
