The meeting was attended by the Ministers of the Interior Defense and Social Development the regional governors the presidential delegates those in charge of the defense of Bio-Bo and La Araucana and the Carabineros de Chile.The President of the Republic Sebastin Piera Echenique led a meeting this Friday to coordinate work with the regional and security authorities of the Southern Macrozone.The Head of State emphasized the importance of peace and security dialogue and collaboration and social and economic development in the Bio-Bo and La Araucana regions.The meeting was attended by the regional governors of Bio-Bo Rodrigo Daz and of La Araucana Luciano Rivas the presidential delegates Patricio Kuhn and Vctor Manoli the presidential delegate Pablo Urquzar the person in charge of Defense for the Bio-Bio Jorge Parga the person in charge of Defense for La Araucana Lionel Curti and the General Director of the Carabineros Ricardo Yez.The President was accompanied by the Ministers of the Interior Rodrigo Delgado Defense Baldo Prokurica and Social Development and Family Karla Rubilar and the undersecretaries of the Interior Juan Francisco Galli of Crime Prevention Mara Jos Gmez and from Social Services Andrea Balladares.At the meeting the authorities evaluated the progress of the economic and social development plans of the Bio-Bo and La Araucana regions and of vaccination and combat against Covid-19. In addition they analyzed the processes of dialogue and participation in the area.Finally the meeting also evaluated the situations of order and citizen security in the provinces with a State of Constitutional Exception.The State of Constitutional Exception has allowed the deployment in the area of more than 2000 troops of the Armed Forces armored vehicles helicopters airplanes and maritime patrols and to reduce the acts of violence in the affected provinces.President Piera raised with the participants the need and convenience of holding these work and coordination meetings on a regular basis.
