The Maritime Government of Puerto Williams completed the renovation of three navigation aids erected with concrete bases that allow supporting the iron structures that rise up to 4 meters in height and weigh around 600 kilos located in the eastern sector of the waters of jurisdictional responsibility of the Third Naval Zone.The work was carried out by personnel specialized in lighthouses also with the support of the units dependent on the Beagle Naval District who worked in the geographical points of Punta Hariot Paso Mantellero Caleta Bevan Baha Windhood and finally Evout Islands Nassau Bay which due to its geographical characteristics and the complexity of accessing the sector required the deployment of the Naval Helicopter N-46 to support the transfer of personnel and materials.The Maritime Authority of the area is responsible for administering 118 navigation aids signals that provide security in the southern channels and allow mariners to have an optimal network of maritime signals.For this reason the annual schedule considers keeping the devices active and working verifying the operation of all the elements that compose it and if required carrying out the replacement cleaning and painting of the structure.
