This morning the construction of a new rehabilitation center for the commune of Chillán was announced within the framework of the start of the Telethon.
The call for bids for the construction of this new Teletón center carried out by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) together with the Regional Government and the Municipality of Chillán considers an investment close to 9.5 billion pesos.
The new Telethon center in the commune of Chillán will serve more than 800 boys, girls and young people, who currently must travel to the center of the Biobío Region to receive care.

This will be the new Telethon center in Chillán
The new Chillán Telethon venue will have a surface area of ??close to 3,382 square meters and involves an approximate investment of 9,586 million pesos, which will be financed through the Regional Government and Government resources.
This Teletón rehabilitation center in the commune of Chillán will include:

Area of ??483.06 m2 for medical care
Gym and spaces for kinesiology sessions
90 square meters of surface for rehabilitation rooms

Sport zones
The land where the new Teletón venue in Chillán will be built has an approximate area of ??0.5 hectares.
The work of the MOP with the Telethon
The State has made a concrete contribution to Telethon for more than 25 years, materializing the construction, improvement and expansion of rehabilitation institutes throughout the country.
The State's work regarding rehabilitation institutes has been led by the MOP , with financing from regional governments.
In this way, the construction of rehabilitation centers has been carried out in the cities of Calama, Copiapó, Talca, Temuco, Valdivia, Coyhaique and Coquimbo.

The MOP recently inaugurated the new Teletón Institute of Arica, and the construction of the new Teletón Institute of the O'Higgins Region is also being put out to tender.
