The Minister of Public Works Alfredo Moreno traveled to the Biobo region to supervise on the ground the progress of a set of road works designed to improve connectivity in Greater Concepcin . These are initiatives such as the expansion of the Concepcin-Chiguayante Connection and the project for the construction of the Costanera Sur in the commune of San Pedro de La Paz to which are added the Industrial Bridge and the Pie de Monte Route which as a whole -in the future- they will configure an orbital ring that will help decongest the high vehicular traffic and promote the productive development of the area.In this region we are doing a large amount of road works that will improve the connectivity of Greater Concepcin. An example of this is the Costanera Sur which is a large-scale work we estimate that its construction will cost about 200 billion pesos that it will be built in stages and that it will improve connectivity in the commune of San Pedro de La Paz but it will also be of enormous help for the connectivity of Greater Concepcin informed Minister Alfredo Moreno after announcing the tender for the studies for the construction of the Costanera Sur.The project which will be executed by the MOP through the Directorate of Roads considers a 7-kilometer route that will border the south bank of the Biobo River between the Bicentennial Bridge and the Industrial Bridge passing through Puente Llacoln Juan Pablo II and the two FFCC Bridges through uneven tracks. These new works will improve connectivity in the northern sector of San Pedro de La Paz.During its visit to the region the MOP authority also began the second stage of expansion of the Concepcin-Chiguayante Connection a road project that considers works between the Paso Superior sector and Calle 8 Oriente through the construction of an overpass that will allow the connection between the Costanera and Avenida OHiggins thereby improving the northern access to the commune.These works will complement the first stage of this new connection that extends for a total of 4 kilometers and that considers the expansion of the coastal avenue to double carriageway between the Bicentennial Bridge and the Pascual Binimelis Avenue in addition to the construction of the La Mochita Bridge. . Likewise it considers the materialization of a river-side park that includes pedestrian sidewalks bicycle lanes urban furniture tree species covers floors ornamental lighting and a viewpoint on Sargento Aldea street.In this regard the Secretary of State explained that the new reality of the commune makes it necessary to carry out new road works We believe today that the development of this area of Greater Concepcin deserves the expansion of this waterfront. We must go beyond what was originally considered in plans that came from the year 2000 and therefore in the year 2022 the detailed engineering of a work will be carried out that will continue this double path towards Chiguayante Minister Alfredo Moreno reported after starting a new stage of the Concepcin-Chiguayante Connection which will represent a total investment of close to 30000 million pesos.Regarding the development of these works the regional presidential delegate of Biobo Patricio Kuhn highlighted that These are great works that have regional importance and that together with improving the quality of life of thousands of penquistas because they will shorten the time of relocation they will also generate jobs during their construction stage which are so necessary. So I am very happy and grateful for the work that the Ministry of Public Works is doing in this matter .During his visit to the different works the Minister of the MOP was accompanied in addition to the regional delegate by the mayors of the Concepcin communes lvaro Ortiz from Chiguayante Antonio Rivas and from San Pedro de la Paz Javier Guiez the deputy Enrique Van Enrique van Rysselberghe the seremi of Public Works Vctor Reinoso and representatives of the Regional Government and local authorities.
