📋 Tender Overview
The security of Chileans has been a priority from day one, and more than words, this has been expressed in concrete measures that to date have already positioned us as the government with the largest number of projects approved in this area.
The current Government has 33 published laws relating to security and five draft laws that are pending publication, but which have already been approved and dispatched by the National Congress.
It should be noted that President Boric's government has only been in office for approximately one year and seven months and has a similar number of laws published during the total term of other governments.
Security Bills Passed
Relating to the use of minors in crimes or offences: it aggravates and increases the penalties for offences, whenever they are committed against children, or they are among those affected by the offence and its circumstances.
It defines the crime of timber theft and other related offences, and authorises the use of special investigative techniques for their prosecution.
Penalties are imposed on those who bring prohibited items into prisons.
The National Youth Social Reintegration Service is created.
The Constitution is amended in order to allow the protection of critical infrastructure by the Armed Forces, in the event of serious or imminent danger.
Law No. 17,798, on gun control, is amended to increase the penalty for the crime of carrying weapons in crowded places.
The Penal Code is amended to increase the penalty for the crime of kidnapping.
The requirements to be called to service in the Carabineros de Chile are modified.
The Penal Code is amended to punish the possession of technological elements that allow persons deprived of liberty to communicate with the outside world.
Amends the Traffic Law to prevent the sale of stolen motor vehicles and punish these behaviors.
