Chile Director Programs Tender

Rear Admiral Ramiro Navajas Director of Programs Research and Development of the Navy DIPRIDA together with the Frigate Captain Francisco Mackay Head of the Department of Research Innovation and Development of the DIPRIDA visited the Naval Research Laboratory NRL and the Office of Naval Research ONR between May 29 and 30 where they were received by Admiral David J. Hahn Chief of Naval Research of the ONR.The visit consisted of a tour by the Naval Research Laboratory NRL where basic and applied scientific research technological development and prototyping are carried out for the Navy and the Marine Corps of the United States. During the visit they took advantage of knowing specific research topics that the laboratory carries out and that could be of interest to the Chilean Navy in the near future.The Chief of Naval Research of ONR emphasized the important role played by strategic partners in supporting the mission of ONR noting that we have a long history of relations with the Chilean Navy and the excellent research carried out in Chile was a of the main reasons for opening the ONR Global Office in Santiago in 2002.For the Rear Admiral Navajas the visit was a great contribution for the Institution since it presented an opportunity not only to strengthen the link with ONR and NRL but also to acquire knowledge on how these organizations handle all the processes of research development and innovation because the main idea is to create value and strengthen scientific collaboration between both institutions.
