π Tender Overview
The railway administration inaugurated the modernization of one of the busiest traffic nodes in the country. The overall reconstruction in Ceska Trebova will undergo both tracks which use passenger trains and part for freight transport. All platforms will receive a complete reconstruction there will be access to them without barriers. The city better connects the new footbridge above the yard. It should be done at the end of 2031.
The node in Ceska Trebova is one of the largest and also the most important in Central Europe with up to five hundred trains to pass daily. Investing in transport is one of the priorities of our government so I am pleased that we continue to the trend of rail acceleration which we perceive as a key to transforming the Czech Republic into a modern country open to new challenges and opportunities. Now we are starting one of the largest railway buildings in the era of independent Czech Republic. The modernization of the Ceska Bude node is important in the context of the whole of Europe because it is also an important intersection for international trains. Last but not least the project will contribute to better comfort and safety of passengers said Prime Minister Petr Fiala.
The last major renewal underwent the station in the 1950s. The extent of the work is evidenced by the fact that the renewal will pass almost 72 kilometers of tracks and tens of kilometers of trolley lead. The builders modernize 173 switches and reconstruct 30 bridges. The construction will also include the reconstruction of the bridging which ensures the connection of the freight part of the station with the main line.
The station and the adjacent city historically form one whole so it is good for local residents that the impact of trains will be much smaller than the noise walls and noise absorbers. The trains will speed up the station from 60 to 80 km/h when passing through the station says Transport Minister Martin Kupka.
As part of the construction a new information system will be built throughout the station. All platforms including roofing are reconstructed increasing their increasing entry into the trains. The existing underpass will also undergo renewal from which passengers get the elevators comfortably to the platform. Thanks to its extension under the entire yard access to the location behind the station will improve. The front station will then connect a modern steel footbridge on the Semanin Street instead of an unsatisfactory underpass says Jiri Svoboda CEO of Railway Administration.
This year preparatory work such as tree felling and dismantle selected tracks will be carried out. A temporary security device will be installed and a new steel footbridge will begin which should be completed in the middle of next year. The greatest restriction for passengers will bring the modernization of the railway station of the personal station including the platforms and the underpass which will be fully started in 2028.
