The Minister of Transport and Communications Nikolay Sabev categorically objected to the construction of a photovoltaic plant on the territory of the former Silistra airport.In a letter to the Mayor of Silistra Julian Naydenov Minister Nikolay Sabev stated that the policy of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in the field of civil aviation is aimed at the restoration and subsequent development of regional small airports.The announcement of the Municipality of Silistra published on February 3 2022 shows that the photovoltaic plant is planned to be built on most of the runway passenger terminal and adjacent infrastructure at the former Silistra Airport. In this regard detailed information was requested from Mayor Julian Naydenov on the administrative procedures performed and the administrative acts issued regarding the airport infrastructure at Silistra Airport.
