📋 Tender Overview
The Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) holds, from August 29 to 31, the 1st National Technical Meeting on Body Cameras and Public Security in Brazil. The event will bring together approximately 250 people at the Ministry's headquarters and is aimed at federal, state, district and municipal public safety professionals, including military police, military fire departments, civil police, scientific police, municipal guards and appointed members of the secretariats.
The purpose of the meeting, which will also be broadcast online, is to promote discussions on aspects inherent to the use of corporate cameras in the field of public security, seeking to improve organizational processes in institutions through the implementation of the National Project for Body Cameras, whose objective is to qualify criminal evidence and protect law enforcement officers and citizens in everyday interactions.
The dialogue also aims at integration, collaboration and cooperation among members of the Unified Public Security System (SUSP) and at strengthening institutional resources in scripting processes, standardization of procedures, digital transformation and the use of body cameras.
The program will feature lectures and panels by experts in public safety and body camera technology; sharing good practices and successful experiences in implementing the apparatus in different public security institutions; discussions of guidelines and policies for the effective and ethical use of corporate cameras; networking among representatives of public security agencies across the country.
Public Hearing
Another event aimed at implementing the use of body cameras is a public hearing to be held on September 1st, at 9:00 am, broadcast on YouTube by the MJSP. The hearing aims to establish minimum technical requirements of quality and performance applicable to the supply of these items for the professional activity of public security, in order to guarantee their safety, quality and reliability.
The debate on the norms also designates procedures in public procurement processes where resources from federal funds are applied. In this way, the draft technical standard provides a procedure in line with the technical standard ABNT NBR ISO 17067: 2015 (Conformity Assessment - Fundamentals for product certification and guidelines for product certification schemes), resulting in savings and efficiency for public administration .
