📋 Tender Overview
The Amazon and Environment Directorate of the Federal Police and the Amazon International Police Cooperation Center coordinate, until next Friday (10), in Manaus (AM), the workshop for the preparation of the latest Integrated Tactical Plan (PTI) of the Amazon Plan: Security and Sovereignty. In total, 12 PTIs were prepared.
The objective of the PTI's is to establish an operating model with integrated coordination, consolidating the legal attributions and command hierarchies of each institution, identifying critical areas, as well as the activities that will be carried out by each body involved in AMAS.
The PTIs aim to ensure that operational strategies are developed from a collective perspective of the operation, optimizing available resources and increasing the response capacity of security organizations in combating crime in the Amazon region.
The National Public Security Secretariat (Senasp) participates in the event through the Directorate of Integrated Operations and Intelligence (Diopi), which works to prepare plans based on its experience in integrating public security bodies and interagencies.
AMAS Plan
The AMAS Plan was established in July 2023, by decree signed by the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The general objective of the AMAS Plan is to strengthen the State's presence in the Amazon Region, combating environmental and related crimes, in addition to promoting local preservation with public security actions that take into account the needs and specificities of the states in the Legal Amazon.
The investment value is R$2 billion, through the Amazon Fund and the National Public Security Fund (FNSP). The financing term for the first installment, worth R$318 million, was signed in November 2023. At that time, 100 vehicles were also delivered, with resources from the MJSP, to carry out the program, totaling R$31 million.
The implementation of 28 land bases and six river bases in the region is also planned, totaling 34 new integrated security bases, involving the Federal Police, Federal Highway Police and state forces.
The Plan has the following areas of action: governance and integrated operations between the bodies responsible for combating crimes that occur in the Legal Amazon; equipping and modernizing said bodies; professional training and development; axes that deal with the National Public Security with Citizenship Program - Pronasci; integration and connectivity.
