πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

Increased tariffs on cargo transported to Joinville Airport (SC), when from Viracopos and Guarulhos airports, was the subject of debate promoted on Tuesday (18) by. Senator Esperidiao Amin (PP-SC), representatives of the Government and the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) discussed possible solutions to the issue

These rates refer to storage, removal and cargo movements in airport warehouses - their incidence occurs on imported loads and those intended for export. The increase in question occurred after the adoption of new rules by the concessionaire companies that control the airports of Viracopos and Guarulhos, both from the state of Sao Paulo. For Esperidiao Amin, the increase in these tariffs was sudden and disproportionate. Remembering that they are temporarily suspended, the senator defended the end of this charge.

The cost of operations [at Joinville airport] was increased by 624% in one -day operations and up to 3,405% [in some cases]. If the execution of a contract is lost from the modality, this cannot be in force. [Air sector] regulation exists to prevent nonsense. Joinville is the second most important metallurgical hub in Brazil - he protested. But Anacs Superintendent of Economic Regulation of Airports, Renan Essucy Gomes Brandao, said the decision that resulted in the increase in tariffs is legal and supported by the concession contract for Viracopos and Guarulhos airports. On the other hand, he said that Anac is committed to a solution that respects both the contract [of Viracopos and Guarulhos granting] and Joinvilles economic stability.

Solutions
Representative of the National Secretariat of Civil Aviation, which is part of the Ministry of Ports and Airports, Daniel Ramos Longo said that next week members of this Ministry and the IRS should meet to discuss the rates. The meeting complies with the request of the Joinville Airport concessionaire company - CCR Aeroportos. According to Daniel, the IRS could lead the two Sao Paulo airports to return to the previous classification of Santa Catarina airport (such as primary zone), which used a value table with prices charged before the increase. The increase occurred after the reclassification of Joinville airport as a secondary zone, which uses another value table. On the other hand, he said that a viable alternative to avoid increasing tariffs is to turn Joinville airport into an international airport. The concessionaire [CCR Aeroportos] completed a cost-effective study to measure the investments it would have to do to adjust the airport to what prescribe the border bodies. And the study indicates that the internationalization of the airport is advantageous, said Daniel.

Difficulties
However, the secretary of government of the municipality of Joinville, Gilberto de Souza Leal Junior, argued that a possible internationalization of the airport would take a long time to be implemented. Gilberto also evaluates that the increase in tariffs will lead the municipal companies to trade Sao Paulo airports for others in the region, such as Navegantes (SC), which will overload the Santa Catarina stretch of the BR-101 highway.
- A trip from Joinville to Navegantes, 80 km away, is taking two hours. A trip from Joinville to 180 km Florianopolis, which was done in two and a half hours, now we are doing in four hours. How are we going to put hundreds and hundreds of trucks inside BR-101 already collapsed?
Already the mayor of Joinvile, Diego Machado, stated that the municipality will stop raising R $ 130 million in taxes.
