On April 16 2021 Wang Xuefeng ambassador to Botswana and representative to the Southern African Development Community SADC met with SADC Executive Secretary Tucks and submitted a letter of appointment.Ambassador Wang first conveyed the cordial greetings of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Secretary Tucks and expressed his appreciation for the positive progress made by SADC in promoting regional integration maintaining regional peace and security and promoting economic and social development. . Ambassador Wang said that China has maintained long-term friendly and cooperative relations with SADC and its member states. After the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic Your Excellency the Secretary-General wrote to the Chinese leaders to express his condolences and support. We are deeply grateful for this. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with SADC under the framework of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum to further contribute to the fight against the epidemic and economic recovery in Southern Africa and to promote greater development of bilateral relations.Secretary-General Tucks welcomed Ambassador Wang to his new post and asked Ambassador Wang to convey his cordial greetings to State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Ta said that China is an important partner of SADC and the pragmatic cooperation between the two sides in various fields is getting closer. We sincerely thank China for its long-term selfless assistance to SADC and its member states especially the technical material and vaccine assistance after the outbreak of the epidemic.
