π Tender Overview
The paving of the Casilla 2-Tembiapora corridor is advancing to guarantee year-round circulation for more than 50,000 residents, connect communities that were isolated during the rains, and strengthen the territorial and productive integration of the department of Caaguazu. Promoted by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), the work will cover 41.62 kilometers, divided into two lots. Lot 1 is in charge of Proel Engineering, while lot 2 corresponds to Tecsul S.A.E. Once enabled, the corridor will establish a stable connection between Raul Arsenio Oviedo and Tembiapora. In addition to facilitating daily travel, it will improve the transportation of banana production, an item that generates around USD 40 million annually in exports. Progress in the first section In the initial sector, tasks focus on preparing and strengthening the platform on which the pavement will be built. The teams form the embankments and the subgrade, while completing the compacted stone base up to km 8, technically called hydraulic macadam. Industrial plants that will produce the soil mixture and the materials necessary for future asphalt are also installed. At the same time, the cobblestones on Primera Linea de Campo 9 street are being repaired, a necessary intervention before laying the asphalt road surface. Drainage and new infrastructure In the second section, soil preparation exceeds 90% completion. The works of art and drainage, intended to conduct water, have already reached 100%, a fundamental improvement to prevent rains from interrupting traffic again and isolating communities and productive areas. The new reinforced concrete bridge is 90% complete and only requires finishing work. In Campo 9, the first two kilometers of asphalt regularization were also extended, progressively improving traffic conditions within the urban area. Date: August 21, 2026
