The Public Utilities and Environment Committee headed by His Excellency Deputy Khaled Buanaq affirmed that environmental protection is an essential pillar in the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa the King of the Great Country may God protect him as this is evident from what is included in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain that the state takes Measures necessary to conserve the environment and preserve wildlife.The committee noted the important role played by the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Crown Prince and Prime Minister may God protect him in implementing the governments work program to achieve environmental sustainability improve the efficiency of use and rationalize the consumption of resources and energy and establish evaluation mechanisms. The environmental impact of economic projects and encouraging the production and use of renewable energy and investment in it.On the occasion of the World Environment Day which falls on the fifth of June of each year the committee indicated that the House of Representatives has placed work on developing and preserving legislation related to the environment at the top of its interests and has approved several issues related to the environment the most important of which is the adoption of a law on the environment that aims to establish an integrated legislative regulation on the environment. It includes all its forms land sea and air and is in line with the international agreements to which the Kingdom of Bahrain has acceded.The committee noted that the celebration of World Environment Day is part of the important efforts made to solve environmental problems such as global warming pollution and climate change and an opportunity to shed light on environmental risks and the importance of global action to address them.
