π Tender Overview
Since March 28th, the Vienna Local Railways have renewed the track infrastructure in the Vosendorf Siebenhirten to Wiener Neudorf section. Several hundred meters of track, two switches and signals were replaced.
The work will be completed as planned on April 6th. With the start of operations on April 7th, the Badner Bahn route will be accessible again.
The second phase of route modernization in the same section from Vosendorf Siebenhirten to Wiener Neudorf will take place from April 27th to May 3rd. The focus will then be on replacing the power supply and overhead lines. In this second phase, a replacement service will also be available to passengers in the Vosendorf Siebenhirten area via Shopping City Sud to Wiener Neudorf. The replacement buses also offer a direct connection to the U6 terminus in Siebenhirten. From there, Meidling train station can be reached in around 10 minutes using the U6. The replacement bus will also operate during night traffic on weekends and before public holidays.
In addition, in the Shopping City South area, a barrier-free shuttle will take people with disabilities from the replacement bus to the shopping center (entrance 5) and back (weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.). The shuttle leaves from the replacement bus stop on B17/Triester Strasse.
From May 4th, the Badner Bahn will run the entire route again. All information about route modernization, operational restrictions, timetables and replacement measures can be found at www.wlb.at/modernisierung.
