As temperatures rise, so do the first plans for summer vacations. One of the most popular summer destinations for Austrians is neighboring Italy, which is why ÖBB is creating even better connections to the south starting April 17, 2025. With the new-generation Railjet, passengers can reach the popular coastal towns of Rimini, Riccione, Cattolica-SG Gabbicce, Pesaro, Senigallia, and finally Ancona.
With the new generation Railjet to the south
From April 17, 2025, to October 6, 2025, the Railjet will run once daily from Munich through Tyrol, stopping in Kufstein, Wörgl, Jenbach, and Innsbruck, continuing via Verona and Bologna directly to Ancona and back. During this period, ÖBB passengers can travel to Bologna twice daily, to Venice twice daily, and to Ancona once daily. With the Sparschiene (Sparschiene) fare, you can get to the most beautiful coastal towns from just €34.60 from Innsbruck. However, as always, the earlier you book, the cheaper the fare.

Tickets for the Railjet to Ancona can already be booked in the ÖBB Ticket Shop. With the exception of the period from August 11 to August 18, 2025, when the train cannot run due to construction work in Italy, the new Railjet will transport passengers to Italy not only quickly but also with maximum comfort. To ensure sufficient seats are available for all holidaymakers and travelers, ÖBB recommends reserving seats in advance .
