π Tender Overview
Governor Anton Mattle has commissioned the responsible building construction officer to implement the renovation of the existing main locations of the Management Center Innsbruck, in particular the central location MCI 1, as quickly as possible. After completing the external analysis of the Tyrolean university location, the responsible State Minister for Science will also explain where there can be better cooperation between Tyrol's universities in terms of content and infrastructure. This will ensure that the 3,300 study places planned for in the original project are secured for the MCI .
"The MCI is a beacon in the university landscape in Austria. The employees, the teachers and the students fill the MCI with life, knowledge and innovation. That is why the state of Tyrol has a clear commitment to the MCI as an entrepreneurial university. There have been plans for a new building since 2008. After years of discussions, due to legal concerns and in view of the strained financial situation of the municipalities and the state, the project will not be pursued any further. I have instructed the responsible building construction officer to immediately make the appropriate preparations to implement a more cost-effective renovation and densification of the existing MCI main site and the other sites," announces LH Mattle .
