The Government has just issued Resolution No. 255/NQ-CP dated August 27, 2026 on urgent construction of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro line extension project to Dong Nai City Administrative Center and Long Thanh International Airport. The resolution clearly states: The Peoples Committee of Dong Nai City implements the construction of urgent works for the Project extending the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to the Dong Nai City Administrative Center and Long Thanh International Airport (Project) according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 70 of the Construction Law. 2025.The Government assigns the Peoples Committee of Dong Nai City to be responsible for directing the implementation of the Project in accordance with the provisions of the law on construction, the law on investment in the public-private partnership method and relevant legal provisions, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, publicity, transparency, and not allowing violations. Besides, review, inspect and evaluate publicly, transparently and objectively in selecting investors, ensuring capacity, meeting requirements on progress, quality and efficiency for the Project, synchronously and interconnecting with other metro lines according to planning; ensuring maximum state benefits, harmonizing business interests, preventing errors, losses and waste. The Government assigned the Ministry of Finance to be responsible for inspecting and supervising the implementation of the Project according to the provisions of law. The Ministry of Construction supports and guides the Peoples Committee of Dong Nai city and relevant agencies and units during the implementation of the Project to comply with the provisions of law on construction, ensuring quality and safety. The Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line extension project to Dong Nai City Administrative Center and Long Thanh Airport has a length of about 44.5 km, maximum design speed of 120km/h, including 2 sections: section 1, from Suoi Tien station to Dong Nai City Administrative Center, is about 7.1km long; Section 2, from Dong Nai City Administrative Center to Long Thanh Airport, is about 36.4km long.
