📋 Tender Overview
The formal trade sector created 40,000 jobs, while the manufacturing industry activity provided 8,800 jobs during 2024, said this Monday, in Luanda, the minister, Rui Miguens de Oliveira. Speaking at the end-of-year celebration ceremony, the Minister of Industry and Commerce said that this number of jobs is part of 213,533 new formal jobs created from January to November this year in Angola, an average of 19,400 formal jobs per month.
Rui Miguens de Oliveira said that the sector has been working in line with the Government's economic agenda, which includes measures to stimulate the economy and boost its potential, which are grouped together in increasing national production, support and financing for the business sector, as well as simplification, tax relief and improvement of the business environment. On the other hand, the governor highlighted the 5.5% growth in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the third quarter of this year, with emphasis on trade, which contributed 4.9%, and the manufacturing industry with 2.1%.
According to the minister, this data shows that the Angolan economy is on the right path, although it is still not enough to satisfy the real needs of citizens.
He added that the process of formalizing trade, increasing and diversifying industrial capacity should continue to be the focus of activity in the coming new year, investing in staff training and promoting technological innovation, so that the industry remains competitive in a global scenario of rapid and constant changes.
