Andorra Minister Casal Tender

The Minister of the Environment Agriculture and Livestock Guillem Casal has chaired for the first time the Information and Surveillance Commission of the Waste Treatment Centre. It was at the regular meeting held on Thursday morning which allowed the results of the monitoring plans for 2022 to be presented as well as to confirm that allowed emission values are well below the legal levels or reference levels that are considered admissible.In this way the balance of activity of the months between November 2022 and April of this year has been reported. In this period there has been a slight reduction in the waste received 26232.38 tons which is 2.5 less than the same period of the previous year and a considerable increase in energy production which has registered an increase of 10. This figure confirms the work applied to the center that makes it profitable to the installation and the production of energy produced despite the fact that the reception of waste decreases.The mission of the Information and Surveillance Commission is to gather information on the quantity and quality of waste treated and on any incident in the normal operation of the Waste Thermal Treatment Centre as well as on control and monitoring plans and to propose corrective measures deemed necessary. In addition it aims to promote information to citizens in relation to the impacts on public health and the environment of the facility.
