π Tender Overview
Alport G.E. will assume absolute control of the ports of Malabo and Bata from March 16 of this year. The information was revealed this Thursday, March 5, in the meeting that the Vice President of the Republic, H.E. Nguema Obiang Mangue, held with his collaborators, at the Peoples Palace, in Malabo.
The company, established between Holding Equatorial Guinea and the Turkish firm Albayrak for the concession of Equatoguinean ports, takes possession of these assets after the three-month transition period included in the contract expires.
This mixed company was created in April 2025 and, during the 90 days of its existence, significant progress has been recorded; In this sense, the training of national human resources, the implementation of a new port management program and the implementation of a different policy for recruiting operational personnel stands out.
What remains pending is to update the dimensions of the two ports to establish a perimeter in the area so that they can later be delivered to the management company, since there are assets in the port areas that do not fall under the concession.
To guarantee transparent, efficient and optimal activity, Nguema Obiang Mangue has warned against interference in port activity because, he said, starting in the second half of this month, both ports will become private areas, with access restricted to any unauthorized person.
Likewise, the Vice President has once again insisted on the prices of port taxes. In his opinion, those responsible for the sector must make attractive rates for investors and ships, so that these assets are more profitable and respond to the objectives of the Guinean-Turkish mixed company.
