The Ministry of Economy, Labor and Sport has approved 28 projects for the development of tourist experiences in the cohesion region of Eastern Slovenia, for which it will allocate 6,774,521.90 euros. The funds will be used for the development of authentic tourist content, the upgrading of cultural heritage and its digitization.Author: Andrej Tarfila
By February 12, 2026, 62 applications were received for the public tender Investments in the development of comprehensive tourist products in the form of authentic tourist experiences in or near cultural heritage sites in the cohesion region of Eastern Slovenia, which was published in the Official Gazette on December 19, 2025. After the evaluation of the expert commission, 28 projects were selected for co-financing.
The supported projects will connect the cultural heritage with the modern tourist offer and offer visitors new and authentic experiences that come from local stories and the special features of individual destinations. Digital content will also enable more modern and interactive access to cultural heritage.
Minister dr. Anze Logar emphasized: Cultural heritage is not only our past, but also an important development opportunity for the future. By investing in quality and authentic tourist experiences, we want to bring it closer to visitors and at the same time create new opportunities for tourist destinations and the local economy.
The public tender is partially financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), in the ratio of 85 percent of EU funds and 15 percent of the national share.
