To promote the exploitation of scientific research, Algeria has launched a digital platform with the Arabic name Bahth. This initiative is part of the digital master plan adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to digitize and modernize the higher education and research sector by 2024.
Bahth is an interactive digital platform for exchange between academic and research institutions (laboratories, technology platforms, research centers) and business, aimed at the needs of companies, industries and professional groups. Bahth is in line with the recommendations of the 2023 study " The Digital Economy In Algeria - Prospects and challenges ", which calls for accelerating the digital transformation of the economy by, among other things, strengthening the education sector to foster innovation and promote digital technology skills.
Bahth is made available under the Schéma Directeur Numérique (SDN) . Under SDN, digital platforms will be established to, among other things, improve the range of services for students, teachers and administrative staff as well as to digitize and modernize academic management, research collaboration and services. Several platforms are already offered, including those for teaching and research as well as for university services such as transport, accommodation and meals.
