π Tender Overview
The intervention at km 935 of the Panamericana Norte will allow the structural capacity of the bridge to be restored and guarantee safe traffic. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications, through its executing unit Provias Nacional, continues to advance with the repair work on the Sullana bridge, located at km 935 of the Sullana - Mancora section of the Pan-American North Highway.
This intervention aims to recover the structural capacity of the infrastructure and guarantee the safety of the thousands of users who travel daily along this strategic route in the Piura region.
Currently, the work includes the demolition of the deteriorated slab and the progressive installation of new prefabricated concrete slabs. For this purpose, lifting equipment anchored to the metal structure of the bridge is used, which allows precision maneuvers to be carried out during assembly. In parallel, conditioning work is being carried out on the metal superstructure and the transverse beams.
The use of prefabricated slabs represents an efficient technical solution that allows speeding up intervention times and reducing the impact on vehicular traffic.
During the development of the work, vehicular traffic is maintained with a restricted pass. Heavy transport vehicles circulate on the Sullana bridge through a single lane and alternately, while light transport uses the old Isaias Garrido bridge, which allows traffic to remain fluid and avoid congestion in the area.
According to the established schedule, the completion of the works is scheduled for August of this year.
With these actions, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, through Provias Nacional, reaffirms its commitment to preserving passability and strengthening road safety in the non-concessioned National Road Network, for the benefit of the population of Piura and all users who travel through this important corridor in the north of the country.
