Competition Name: Environmental Management System Competition Type: RFP Agreement Type: NWPTA Public Opening: No Synopsis: RFP 210104, Environmental Management System Project Description: The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways (MoH) wishes to employ the services of a consultant to review current industry and ministry practices, processes and applicable environmental legislation to develop an Environmental Management System (EMS) framework that aligns with ISO 14001 principles (plan-do-check-adjust cycle). The EMS framework is to be compliance-focused (designed to meet regulatory requirements) and align with the ministry’s strategic plan. The consultant will be required to conduct scans of other government &/or transportation agencies to identify best practice measures applicable to the Ministry of Highways and be required to provide recommendations for an environmental tracking system to assist in managing compliance with federal/provincial environmental regulations. In addition, the consultant will be required to provide recommendations for an EMS implementation plan. Note: The EMS framework will be in alignment with ISO 14001 principles, however, the ministry is not pursuing ISO 14001 certification.
