Contract awarded for Project 1011: update of the study 'development status of quantum computers' (update qc-study) lot-0000, title: project 1011: update of the study "development status of quantum computers" (update qc study), description: the subject of the contract is the annual editorial revision and content update of the bsi study "development status of quantum computers" (see www.bsi.bund.de/qcstudie) in three revisions. the goal is to regularly adapt and reevaluate the insights gained from the bsi study "development status of quantum computers" to current developments in research and industry, so that the bsi always has an up-to-date basis for decision-making to assess and, if necessary, intensify the required actions regarding the development, standardization, and dissemination of quantum-safe cryptographic methods. the existing bsi study provides a well-founded assessment of the current state of development as well as a reliable forecast of the future availability of cryptographically relevant quantum computers. the update of the study to be prepared within the framework of this project includes both universal quantum computers – for executing algorithms such as those by regev, shor, or grover – as well as cryptanalytic approaches using adiabatic quantum computing or noisy intermediate scale quantum (nisq). the study focuses on the two aspects of realization approaches and algorithmic innovations. in each of the three revisions, an update of the study should particularly take place regarding these aspects. estimated value excluding vat: 442181.99 eur.Project 1011: update of the study 'development status of quantum computers' (update qc-study)
